Change your breakfast, change your life!

What did you have for breakfast this morning?

Are you struggling with energy dips and cravings? I strongly believe that what (and when) we eat in the morning affect our metabolism, energy and cravings all day long.

Let`s have a look at the 3 scenarios and have a look at where you are:

SCENARIO 1 :SKIPPING BREAKFAST

Skipping breakfast or having a late breakfast will cause your metabolism to go into starvation mode and you will end up losing muscle instead of body fat… plus the chance is high you crave for more (and less healthy food) later.

SCENARIO 2: CARBOHYDRATE BASED BREAKFAST

Includes bread and toas, cereals, muesli, quick oats, muffin, rice, noodles… even though they don’t taste sweet they release sugar quickly into our blood resulting intro extra production of insulin by our body to convert to excess sugar into body fat. We end up storing more body fat, feel tired very quickly and end up having more cravings throughout the day, esp for sweet food. Also due lack of protein (which is a building some of our muscle and very important to have at breakfast) we end up losing muscle mass. Carbohydrate based breakfast results long term not only in an increase of body fat and fatigue but also in many health issues, esp diabetes.

SCENARIO 3: BALANCED BREAKFAST

The key to optimum health and a balanced body is to have a balanced breakfast with sufficient protein, vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates (yes we still need carbohydrates but healthy ones, that release sugar slowly into our bloodstream). This way we nourish our body with everything it needs without spiking our blood sugar levels and giving our body an excess of calories. Apart from having the necessary macro nutrition it is crucial to nourish our body in the morning with all the vitamins and minerals too. While we are asleep our body is not.. it is working very hard to regenerate new healthy cells overnight and hence it is very important to replenish our body to feel our best.
